Hello.
Our story.
Welcome to Clover Lane Publishing, where our roots run as deep as our passion for knowledge.
Clover Lane Publishing was born from a unique convergence of passions and experiences. Our name is a testament to our founder's home, her longstanding career in environment and sustainability, and her clover-rich lawn—a symbol of our commitment to both nature and nurture.
Why We Exist
At Clover Lane Publishing, we believe in the power of books to inform, inspire, and ignite change. Our founder's lifelong love affair with books—from childhood tales to an extensive personal library numbering in the hundreds—fuels our mission to bring impactful works to readers worldwide.
While we appreciate all genres, we have a particular affinity for non-fiction books about business, science, technology, environment, self-help, and travel. We see these books as gateways to new ideas, perspectives, and solutions that can shape our world for the better.
Our Approach
Clover Lane Publishing represents the next exciting chapter in our founder's career journey. It's the realization of an entrepreneurial dream, combining a love for books with honed skills in project management, attention to detail, and a passion for writing, continuous learning, and the publishing process.
We're not just publishing books; we're cultivating ideas, developing knowledge, and contributing to a more informed world. Each title we publish is a step towards this vision.
Through our training and coaching services, we work with aspiring authors and publishers who are interested in learning the ins and outs of the book creation and publishing process.

Our Founder.
Melissa Peneycad is an author, entrepreneur, public engagement strategist, and consultant dedicated to making complex ideas accessible through engaging, well-researched writing. With a background spanning business, education, technology, infrastructure, regulation, and sustainability, she has spent over twenty-five years working with private, public, and nonprofit organizations to navigate change, develop and implement strategies, and drive innovation. Her diverse experience gives her a unique ability to identify patterns, draw unexpected connections, and translate complex ideas across disciplines—an approach that informs her writing on topics ranging from artificial intelligence to food, travel, and beyond.

Melissa began her career as a management consultant before transitioning into sustainability, where she played a key role in shaping projects and designing and implementing frameworks that have made a lasting impact in infrastructure and commercial real estate. Over time, her passion for writing, teaching, and distilling complexity into clear, actionable insights led her to establish Clover Lane Publishing. Through this venture, she provides consultation services to aspiring authors and publishers while continuing to write expertly crafted books that aim to inform and inspire.
She holds advanced degrees in business and environmental studies and is based in Halifax, where she lives with her husband, their two cats, and Bernese Mountain Dog. Beyond writing and publishing, Melissa enjoys traveling (she has been to nearly 50 countries), great food, art, history, and hiking.
